— THE HEALING HANDS PROJECT —
New U Women’s Clinic’s Healing Hands Project to deliver feminine hygiene kits to Ukrainian women refugees
Dr. Rachel Fidino and Andrew Fidino of New U Women’s Clinic and Aesthetics will be sending a first wave of 2,600 feminine hygiene kits to Ukrainian Women that are refugees in Poland. The effort is being conducted through their non-profit, Healing Hands Project whose mission is to assist women with basic human rights to improve menstrual health with access to necessities and quality of life.

They are partnering with the International Medical Corps based in Arizona that has a history of supporting medical and MHPSS services response in the Ukraine, while also providing other services as required. International Medical Corps is one of the few international humanitarian agencies working on both sides of the original “line of contact” that began in 2014. It also has supported the Ministry of Health through the Covid-19 pandemic.
“Shipping is our biggest issue in getting these kits overseas” explains Dr. Fidino. “We were initially told that it would cost $19,000! We’ve been working hard to negotiate and think we’ve gotten it down to $2,000 which will be covered by generous Tri- Cities community members.”
The effort will be an ongoing process.
