The results of the test can inform your provider about genes that may impact how you metabolize or respond to certain medications.
New U Women’s Clinic & Aesthetics offers Myriad Foresight Carrier Screen. The Myriad Foresight Carrier Screen identifies couples who are at elevated risk of passing inherited conditions to their children. Strict disease inclusion criteria are used to select conditions that are serious, clinically-actionable, and prevalent. There are over 175 serious inherited conditions that are included in Foresight Carrier Screening. Men and women who are planning to start a family should be tested. Patients should ideally be screened before or during pregnancy. The sample consists of 4 mL of blood or saliva sample.
